Mackenzie Morrison earned her BFA in Dance, Choreography, and Performance with a minor in Technical Theater from the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). She graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2021 within the top 100 students of UNCG. Throughout her college career, she earned multiple scholarships; including the Dr. John T. & Mary L. Burns Scholarship in Dance & Musical Theatre and the Demetra D. Perrelli Dance Scholarship, which supports students who have enhanced the University’s dance program through outstanding dance performance. Mackenzie began dancing at the age of 3 here, on beautiful Oahu, when her family was stationed in Hawaii. As the daughter of an Active Duty Military member, her family moved often. This gave Mackenzie the opportunity to dance in many different environments and learn from teachers all over the world. Her passion for dance has led her through some of her most memorable life events and journeys. Mackenzie’s favorite part of Dance is the power it has to connect people and its ability to create spaces of shared experience. Some of Mackenzie’s most notable accomplishments in Dance include a 3-city tour of Serbia with the Mystic Ballet Company and dancing professionally with The Silhouettes where she was able to travel around the United States performing in their 90-minute “Love Happens” show. Mackenzie is so excited to be a member of the Prisma Dance Family and looks forward to sharing her love of dance with all the students and faculty.
