Joanna Herd has trained in classical ballet technique for twenty years.  She has performed many leading roles in school and junior company productions, the Nutcracker, and classical ballet repertory throughHawaii State Ballet since the age of ten.  After graduating from high school, Joanna pursued other forms of dance.   At Diamond Head Theater, she studied tap dancing from Caryn Yee.  In 2008, Joanna attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she began studying modern technique and in 2010 earned a BA in Studio Art and a minor in dance.   Summer of 2010, Joanna earned a certificate of achievement from thePulse on Tour Teacher Workshop which is also partnered with Broadway Dance Center.  Through Moments Unforgettable Performing Arts School and Agency, Joanna has performed in three large productions: HIstory: of Christmas 2009 & 2011, HIstory: of Easter 2013, and HIstory: For Hawaii 2013; including co-choreographing Soul Cry.  For the past eight years, Joanna has been an assistant instructor of Prisma Balletwhich instructs classical ballet technique to children ages three to adult, and she is currently a dancer and instructor with Prisma Ballet.  Joanna’s heart and life’s passion is to use her dancing, and many forms of art, as vessels that will inspire and bless people of all generations and nationalities for the Glory of God.
