Starting her dance training with Nicole Lam at the age of 5, Emma Hughes truly grew up in and with Prisma Dance. Prisma fanned a passion for dance and joy for performing that includes not only ballet but jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and hip hop. Emma’s participation in representing Prisma in several Spotlight Dance Cup Competitions has awakened her love for competing and helped bring home proof of Prisma’s excellence with 1st overall trophies and technique awards. In April of 2019, her drive to share this excitement for dance led Emma to begin assisting and later on teaching at Prisma. In order to transition from student to teacher, Emma pursued formal dance instructor training. In the summer of 2021, her desire to increase her knowledge of dance and refine her technique pushed Emma to expand her horizons by taking classes at Millennium Dance Complex in L.A. Additionally, Emma has furthered her training at masterclasses in Hawaii and L.A with Andres Penate, Michael Dameski, Bailey Sok, Shawn Perry, and more, while also continuing to train at Prisma Dance. Emma cannot wait to continue to share her enthusiasm for dance and the Lord with each one of her students, encouraging them to not strive for perfection, but for excellence and joy in everything they do.
