PRISMA BALLET COLOR/LEVEL BIBLICAL THEME:

Spiritual principles based off of the different colors/gem levels

 

(ages 3-4) RUBY : Red/Pink  = LOVE   Love is the foundation from which to build

(ages 4-5) SUNTONE : Orange = PASSION & CREATIVITY

(ages 6-8) TOPAZ I & II & III: Yellow = JOY, LIGHT, & FREEDOM

(ages 9-12) EMERALD I & II: Green = LIFE, FLOURISHING, & ABUNDANT GROWING

(ages 12-15) SAPPHIRE: I & II BLUE = DEEPNESS & MATURITY

(ages 16+) AMYTHIST: Purple = ROYALTY & REFINEMENT

PRISMA BALLET CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The goal of all Prisma’s ballet classes is to build ballet technique upon a perspective that uses dance as an expression of worship unto the Lord.

RUBY Class description (ages 3-4 yrs old):

This class will include an intro to ballet basics and will explore creative movement. Inspiring and nurturing the creativity in students to experience dance, and to ENJOY it, is an important aspect at this stage of development. Free-style worship and choreography will be integrated into class.

SUNSTONE Class description (ages 4-5 yrs old):

This class will include dancing at the ballet barre and ballet fundamentals (ballet positions, turnout, posture, etc.) will be taught.  Inspiring and nurturing the creativity in students to experience dance, and to ENJOY it, is an important aspect at this stage of development. Free-style worship and choreography will be integrated into class.

TOPAZ I Class description (1x/week classes for ages approx. 6-8 yrs old):

These classes will include fundamental basics of ballet (barre work, center work, and across the floor). Learning good habits that are executed correctly is a primary focus at this stage of development (such as placement, posture, self-discipline, and diligence). Inspiring and nurturing the creativity in students to enjoy dancing for the Lord is continually reinforced through free-style worship and choreography in class.

BALLET: ADULT – BEGINNER/LOW INTERMEDIATE

This class will include fundamental basics of ballet (barre work, center work, and across the floor). Correct alignment, posture, and placement will be a primary focus. Building muscle strength, flexibility, and agility will also be incorporated throughout class. Creativity and expression will be encouraged and explored in free-style worship and choreography in class.

TOPAZ II & TOPAZ III Class Description (2x-3x/week classes for ages approx. 6-9 yrs old):

These classes are for students desiring to work towards a high level of excellence in technique. Practicing multiple times a week (repetition) is important to improving technique and muscle memory. Included in this class are the fundamental basics of ballet, learning vocabulary (including pronunciation and spelling), and biblical principles to sharpen the dancer’s character so that the dancer’s whole being (mind, body, and spirit) is working towards excellence. Developing expression and creativity in free-style worship and choreography will be included in class.

EMERALD I & EMERALD II Class Description (4-5 classes/week approx age 9+):

These classes are the continuation from Topaz II & III. These classes will focus on maintaining correct placement/posture while increasing the level of difficulty/complexity of movements. Precision and consistency will be reinforced through repetition and practice. This level will focus on growing – growing physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

            EMERALD II – includes ballet pointe barre and ballet partnering class

SAPPHIRE I & II Class Description (5 classes/week approx age 12+):

 This class is geared towards pre-professional and professional dancers and students who desire to work toward a high level of excellence in technique. Combinations taught will be intermediate/advanced in execution and sequence (difficulty and complexity). The goal is for students to reach a new height of excellence in technique, mindsets, and diligence. Seeking depth and maturity within a heart of worship will be a key focus in this class.

            SAPPHIRE I & II – includes pointe and ballet partnering class

AMYTHIST Class Description (5 classes/week approx age 16+):

This class is geared towards pre-professional and professional dancers and students who desire to work toward a high level of excellence in technique. Combinations taught will be intermediate/advanced in execution and sequence (difficulty and complexity). The goal is for students to reach a new height of excellence in technique, mindsets, and diligence. This class will focus on the refining qualities of ballet stylization.
